As we kick off our annual School Supply campaign for the children of Chimbote, we’re grateful that more and more people are getting involved with all aspects of our partnership with the people of Chimbote.  Following the devastating effects of Covid and the extended periods of unemployment for many families in Chimbote, the need is greater than ever.  Our 2022 Homes campaign continues throughout the year.  In addition to providing school supplies, there are many ways you can help change lives in Chimbote.
 
Our next mission trip to Chimbote will be next summer, but the carpentry team is still building homes and furniture through your generous donations.  Many families greatly appreciate the difference having a kitchen table and chairs can make or beds or bunk beds so children don’t have to sleep on dirt floors.  As temporary homes continue to spread around Chimbote, many areas don’t have a water supply.  As you’ll see on the donation chair, $380 will provide water delivery of 10,000 liters supplying about 200-250 families.
 
So far in 2022, we’ve raised over $117,000 for our Homes campaign.  The past two years your overwhelming generosity brought that total over $200,000!  Whether you buy school supplies or donate toward any of the other needs, every dollar goes a long way towards changing lives for our sisters and brothers in faith.
