Our High School Faith Formation is an active and vibrant community of high schoolers led by two highly energetic youth directors Lexi Heise and Ben Tlougan. They lead the Confirmation classes, Coffee House and many other events including the annual Catholic Heart Workcamp, spiritual pilgrimages, lock-ins, movie nights, and trips to seasonal events like the corn maze.

Wednesday Night Faith Formation Classes
High school faith formation seeks to bring 9 th and 10 th graders into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through a deep and personal understanding of the doctrines of the Catholic Church, so that they may be mentally and spiritually prepared for the sacrament of Confirmation. The program includes speakers who invite the youth to meet Christ and his Church, retreats ( Quest and NET), mission outreach ( Feed My Starving Children, Magnifying Abilities, various nursing homes and others), adoration and confession, and small group discussion time.
Juniors and seniors in high school, as well as all faithful parishioners who feel called by the Holy Spirit, are encouraged to serve the teens of our parish as table leaders at Wednesday night classes.
The Sacrament of Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is normally received at the end of the 10th grade year following a two-year preparation program of Faith Formation classes.
Required Retreats for Confirmation Preperation:9th Grade- QUEST
St. Michaels requires every 9th grade student to attend one of our two in-house Quest retreats. Quest has become another favorite of the youth throughout the years. After a great deal of preparation, the retreat it is led by many of our upper-classmen as well as some of our returning college students. They lead the 9th graders in games, perform skits, give witness talks, and serve as small-group leaders. The students and leaders are all given time to pray before the Blessed Sacrament, which for many of them is a first-time encounter. All are also encouraged to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation. We are blessed to say that the Holy Spirit has been working wonderful things in our youth through Quest retreats.
10th Grade- NET
St. Michaels requires every 10th grade student to attend one NET retreat. The NET Center is located in West St. Paul, is for Catholic youth grades 8-12 preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. All of their Confirmation Retreat Weekends offer the same programming and content. They offer the opportunity for Adoration, Reconciliation, and Sunday Mass, as well as large group talks/presentations, small group discussions, games, skits, and more. They will have teens in attendance from all over the Archdiocese (and some from neighboring dioceses as well), and average 80-85 attendees each weekend.
