Music Ministries

Music is an integral part of our parish liturgies and is provided at all weekend Masses. The Music Ministry is called to “assist the assembled believers to express and share the gift of faith that is within them and to nourish and strengthen their interior commitment of faith” (from Music in Catholic Worship). Our ministry relies on parishioners who share their musical gifts with the parish and consists of the following:

Joyful Light Children's Choir (Grades 2-4)
Radiant Light Youth Choir (Grades 5-8)
Teen and Young Adult Choir
Cantors
Instrumentalists
 

St. Michael Adult Choir:

Choir rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. during the school year (Sept through May) and the choir is open to high school students and adults. Members of the choir are able to choose the Mass time they sing at each weekend Church of St. Michael.

Men's Chorus:

The St. MIchael Men's Chorus is open to high school and adult men in the parish. The Men's Chorus sings at various Mass times throughout the year and rehearse at various times. See the calendar for more information.

Joyful Light Children’s Choir: 

The Joyful Light Choir is open to all children in the Parish in grades 2-4 with unchanged voices. Joyful Light rehearses on Wednesdays from 2:30 - 3:15 p.m. or Thursdays from 5:00-5:45 p.m. from September through Easter. They sing at various Masses throughout the year (usually about one per month), the 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass (combined with Radiant Light)
and one of the Easter Masses.

Radiant Light Youth Choir:

Teen and Young Adult  Choir:

The Teen Choir is open to all teens in grades 9-12, and young adults.  This choir sings at Mass about once per month from October through June (the last Mass is the Graduation Mass).  One rehearsal is scheduled (at various times) before each Mass.  Membership is especially flexible for teens (singers come when they can).  The only requirement is that they attend the rehearsal directly before the Mass at which they sing.

Cantors:

Cantors are experienced singers who help lead our song at Mass. Adults, in addition to experienced children and youth from Joyful and Radiant Light choirs, serve as cantors. If you have been gifted with a beautiful singing voice, please consider sharing your gift!

Instrumentalists:                                                               

Instrumentalists play at various Masses throughout the year, some on a regular basis and others periodically. We utilize a wide variety of instrumentation: keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, woodwinds, strings, brass, etc.
